Description

Kaunas University of Technology (or KTU) is an internationally competitive, interdisciplinary university of technology that creates and transfers new knowledge and innovations. There are 9 faculties (Chemical Technology, Economics and Business, Electrical and Electronics, Informatics, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Mechanical Engineering and Design, Panevėžys Technology and Business, Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, and Civil Engineering and Architecture), 8 research institutes (Environmental Engineering, Architecture and Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Food Science, Mechatronics, Materials Science, Healthcare Telematics and Prof. K. Baršauskas Ultrasound Institute.

The University efficiently implements the processes of technology transfer, intellectual property management, creation of young business and development of cooperation, coordinated by the National Innovation and Business Centre, as an intermediate link between science and business, ensuring smooth mutual cooperation, commercialisation of innovations created at the University, protection of intellectual property and the development of young business, and uniting the activities of the integrated science, study and business centres (valleys) Santaka and Nemunas. KTU, both together with its partners and individually, is a founder or shareholder of a number of scientific institutions. KTU cooperates with the following research centres and institutes: the Kaunas Science and Technology Park (Tech-Park Kaunas), Kaunas Regional Energy Agency, Panevėžys Science and Technology Park, Panevėžys Mechatronics Centre, Lithuanian Regions Research Institute.
